Set up SIA Connect ANY-Ware for the first time
Configure the pairing passphrase, choose a trial or license, and continue to first-user creation in the Edge Portal.
After installing SIA Connect ANY-Ware, complete the first-time setup in the Edge Portal before creating a user and signing in. The setup has two stages: create the administrator PIN, then choose a trial or activate a license.
Before you begin
- SIA Connect ANY-Ware must be installed and running.
- Open the Edge Portal using the host address and port selected during installation.
- If you already have a license, keep the license text or license file available.
1. Set the administrator PIN
The Edge Portal calls the installation's pairing passphrase the PIN code. This is the master recovery code for the installation. It is separate from the username and password you create later.
- Under Create the administrator PIN, enter a PIN of at least four characters. Alternatively, select Generate PIN code.
- Optionally select the copy button to copy the PIN.
- Select Save PIN and continue.
- Store the downloaded
siaconnect_pin_YYYYMMDD.txtfile securely.
Save the PIN
You need this PIN to create the first user and recover administrator access. Store it separately from user passwords.
2. Choose a license or trial
The next step displays the activation key that identifies this installation. Choose one of the following options:

| Local 6-hour trial | Select Continue trial under Start 6-hours free trial. No registration is required. After the trial ends, there is a 30-minute cooldown before it can be started again. |
| 14-day evaluation | Copy the activation key, select Access 14 days free trial, and complete the form that opens. Return to the Edge Portal to activate the evaluation license when you receive it. |
| Existing license | Select Add license. Paste the license into the License field or select Upload license file, then select Activate license. |
| Request a production license | Copy the activation key and select Request license. |
3. Create the first user
After you continue with a trial or activate a license, the portal opens the user-registration step. Follow Create the first user to create the account and sign in.
Expected result after initialization
The installation has a saved administrator PIN, is running with a trial or valid license, and is ready for creation of the first local user.
